So… What’s this Step and Repeat all about then?

If you are looking for a Step and Repeat or Press Wall for your event you have come to the right place!  A Step and Repeat is a backdrop of various lengths and sizes that incorporates a sponsor logo or product launch at a red carpet event. The main purpose of a Step and Repeat is to capture the photos of guests and celebrities on the logo wall to ensure that the brand will get maximum exposure. The literal meaning of Step and Repeat comes from celebrities who walk the red carpet at events like galas, movie grand openings and charity events in which they walk the red carpet, have their photo taken in front of the logo or press wall and then repeat the same action for the next set of professional photographers. Photoshop also uses the term Step and Repeat which is the process in which you are able to cut and paste to actually make the Step and Repeat.

There are several types of Step and Repeats that are sold to the public and to corporate and private events. The cheapest and most economical version is a vinyl pipe and drape version which comes with a bag of poles and a vinyl draped over it. This type requires assembly and is usually seen at a wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, quinceaneras and small events. This type of Step and Repeat is typically fine for small events where photos are taken with cheap cameras or camera phones but most professional photographers in Las Vegas will not shoot images on this type of backdrop because it causes glare in the images and shows wrinkles.

With Step and Repeat Las Vegas, we only use high quality stand systems which can be setup in 5 minutes and do not require any tools for setup as this eliminates the headache of assembly and provides a seamless and non wrinkled backdrop. Without any poles showing, this setup allows for professional Las Vegas photographers to take nice full-body images of each guest or celebrity.

There are three (3) main types of Step and Repeat materials that are used for mostly every event:

1) Vinyl: Vinyl is the cheapest option and is utilized primarily for Step and Repeats that have multiple logos and are used for one time and  thrown away after. These Step and Repeat banners usually wrinkle very easily and cause a glare when photos are taken. The backdrop can be setup with a pipe and drape and pole pockets which takes assembly and tools. This type of setup would not be recommended for outdoor use or anywhere that would be windy as the backdrop tends to become a sail.

2) Fabric: Fabric is the best option for a Step and Repeat Banner as you have many different options for logos, graphic designs and colors. This option offers the best use of a Step and Repeat because of the customizations that it can offer. This type of backdrop is wrinkle free and can fold up very easily to be used over and over again. This would also be the choice for all professional photographers as the backdrop does not have any glare like the vinyl step and repeat. The backdrop stand also takes less than 5 minutes to setup and the edges are always finished to not show any of the pole or backdrop stand. This type can also have a fabric on the back that can also provide branding as well.

3) Hard Panels: Hard panels are the cheapest option to use and would be the most rigid of the three. The appearance is very professional as well as the quality of the graphics that can be produced. The downside to these panels is that every 5ft there would be a seam that is visible. The other downside is the slide in holder for the bottom of each panel will be visible and usually covers some of the red carpet which does not look that professional in photos.

A List of our most Frequently Asked Questions

What is a “Step and Repeat” press wall and why do I need one?2017-06-15T11:32:58+00:00

The term Step and Repeat comes from hollywood as stars on the red carpet would step up to the professional photographers and then move on to the next group of professional photographers. This motion of stepping up and repeating the action is where the term “Step and Repeat” comes from. Our graphic design team would like to think that the term Step and Repeat comes from their side of the industry where the corporate logos “repeat” themselves on the custom backdrop. The term is also referred to as a “Press Wall” which refers to the photographers and press who are taking photos of the celebrities. The overall purpose is to capture talent or celebrities in front of a sponsors logos.

Why Step and Repeat Las Vegas?2017-06-15T11:33:43+00:00

With over 20 years in the special event and printing industry in Las Vegas we have seen it all. There are many small print shops or $50 banner shops who can print you a banner in Las Vegas. Our company specializes in large tradeshows, custom events, special events, product launches, etc. We only use the highest quality materials as we don’t compromise when it comes to our clients.

How do I submit the graphics and designs?2017-06-15T11:34:20+00:00

Our full graphic design team can take your concept and turn that into stunning graphics that will wow your clients and guests. Our team has over 25 years experience with everything from Photoshop to Illustrator and everything in between. Our team are true artists and can design everything from trade show banners to elegant Step and Repeats for Las Vegas Gala’s and Award Shows.

What graphic file types can I supply?2017-06-15T11:35:05+00:00

We are only able to accept EPS Vector files or Adobe Illustrator files. By using vector files we are able to scale the images without any loss in quality when printing very large files. If we used a jpg or png, the image would become pixelated when enlarging the logo which would not look at all professional. We always tell our clients the larger the file size is typically better so that we are able to fully use what you have given us.

How do I send the graphic files?2017-06-15T11:35:54+00:00

We can accept files through email, Dropbox, Google Drive, We Transfer, etc. We have file folders for our clients on most of the widely used file hosting sites.

What about rush orders?2017-06-15T11:36:36+00:00

Most companies do not have their own print shop which means they actually outsource their printing to someone else. For this reason they will need a week’s time to produce what we can in a day or two. If we re given a “print ready” file by noon, we can have the backdrop in your hands right after lunch the following day. We of course would like time to ensure that your print is absolutely perfect but we are known to pull off miracles as well!

Is your pricing competitive?2017-06-15T11:37:19+00:00

Our pricing is very competitive and in fact we are the only cloth printer in Las Vegas which means you are able to get the highest quality without the cost of expensive shipping. We are definitely not the cheapest as our quality is our main selling point but as the saying goes “You get what you pay for.” as that item might be cheap for a reason.

What is your print quality?2017-06-15T11:37:57+00:00

Our quality is second to none as we print in 6 color instead of the standard 4 color print. Its funny when we show up to the Las Vegas Convention Center and another company always asks where we do our printing as theirs looks awful. Those are the types of clients who also send us files that same day and we are able to turn around their tradeshow graphics the following day to wow their guests as well.

Do you have any cheaper alternatives?2017-06-15T11:38:44+00:00

If you are looking for a one time use setup we do offer the pipe and drape setup where you buy the graphic and the pipe and drape. We can also rent the pipe and drape as the graphic is always yours to keep. This setup is easy to travel with and can be turned around in one day as well. We can ship these anywhere in the US.

What payment do you accept?2017-06-15T11:45:35+00:00

We currently accept all major credit cards for the purchase. Please note there is a 3% credit card fee that goes along with each sale and 8.25% sales tax in Nevada.

How about super unique orders?2017-06-15T11:46:40+00:00

Our company always like a challenge and love to say on the phone “Challenge Accepted!” Hit us with what you got, the worse we could say is no.
